Synthesis and Characterization of Activated Carbon from Agrowastes for the Removal of Acetic Acid from an Aqueous Solution

چکیده
In this study, activated carbons prepared from agrowastes by chemical activation were used to remove acetic acid an aqueous solution through a batch process. The adsorbents characterized SEM, XRD, FT-IR, and point of zero charge (pHpzc). effects adsorbent dosage, initial concentration, contact time considered. Equilibrium data was tested using Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Frenkel–Halsey–Hill models. degree adsorption increased for both as time, dosage concentration increased. described well the (Freundlich=Frenkel–Halsey–Hill) models with highest regression coefficient R 2 = 0.9961 id="M2"> 0.9951 Rice Husk Activated Carbon (RH-AC) Potato Peels (PP-AC), respectively. This suggests multilayer existence heterogeneous pore distribution in surface. Kinetic agreed pseudosecond-order ( id="M3"> 0.999 id="M4"> 0.994 ) RH-AC PP-AC, correspondingly. indicates that process chemisorption nature. regeneration studies showed could be renewed reused before losing their adsorbing affinity acid.
